Profile for Brian Marshall
Brian Marshall, DVM, MS
Owner & Veterinarian
Dr. Brian Marshall hails from Yarmouth, a tiny farming town in southeastern Iowa where the dogs and cats outnumbered the people. He attended Iowa State University as an undergraduate and veterinary student, graduating in 1996.

After graduation, he completed a small animal internship at a large emergency/referral hospital in Ottawa, Ontario. He then spent two years at The Ohio State University studying neuromedicine and surgery. While at Ohio State, Dr. Marshall also completed a master's degree in veterinary clinical sciences studying the ototoxic effects of an antibiotic called amikacin.

Dr. Marshall moved to Colorado in 1999 where he worked at the Aspen and Carbondale Animal Hospitals for five years. He moved to the Durango area in 2006, working at the Bayfield Animal Hospital until he purchased the Baker's Bridge Veterinary Clinic in 2010.

Dr. Marshall lives with his two german shorthair pointers, Ben and LJ, and a bunch of cats and two horses. He enjoys hunting, fly fishing, mountain biking and reenacting the middle ages in the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Haley Hamilton, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Haley Hamilton was born and raised in Durango and began visiting Baker’s Bridge Vet Clinic with her own pets as a small child. She obtained her bachelor's degree in biology at Colorado College and spent several years in an immunology research lab at University of Colorado prior to attending vet school at Colorado State University.

After graduating in 2019, she completed a rotating internship in ER, surgery, and internal medicine at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Hamilton started at BBVC as an assistant in 2015 and has been climbing the ranks ever since.

Her special interests include emergency medicine, critical care, and internal medicine though she enjoys all aspects of the field. Dr. Hamilton is "Fear-Free" certified. Dr. Hamilton has two dogs and a cat, Darwin, Huxley, and Juliet.

In her free time, she loves volleyball, skiing, hiking, biking, and all things outdoors. She is also an active member of La Plata County Search and Rescue and stays busy training her pup Huxley to be a wilderness air scent search dog.

Profile for Sadie Brown
Sadie Brown, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Sadie Brown was born in rural Wisconsin and moved to rural northern New Mexico with her family when she was seven. She was primarily homeschooled prior to attending the University of New Mexico for her BS in biology, graduating in 2014.

After dabbling in the field of wildlife ecology (in New Mexico and southern Colorado, with field trips to Mongolia and Alaska thrown in) she returned to school for her veterinary degree.  Upon graduating with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2018, she returned to Colorado to complete a small animal rotating internship at what is now known as Colorado Animal Specialty and Emergency in Boulder.

From there, she was an emergency veterinarian in Colorado Springs for 2.5 years - through the COVID pandemic - before transitioning to being a primary care veterinarian at a private practice in Monument in 2022. When offered the opportunity to come to Baker's Bridge and have a chance to mix her love for primary care,  emergency medicine, and more rural living - she simply could not refuse!

Dr. Brown shares her life outside of veterinary medicine with her husband (Brandon), son (Mylo), two cats (Ari and Pakhet), and pitbull (Köten). In her spare time, she wrangles her "danger baby" boy, enjoys reenacting the middle ages (along with Dr. Marshall) in the Society for Creative Anachronism, gardening, listening to audio books, hiking and binge watching TV shows.
